📝 News & Notes

• Jauan Jennings back at practice, no update on contract dispute [Nick Wagoner]

  My take: Jennings attending practice is a major step in the right direction. Good to know the calf injury is not too serious on its own and that the contract dispute isn’t currently at the hold-out phase. Will continue to monitor this one closely but this was a big positive step.

• Jaylen Warren signs two year extension with $12 million guaranteed [Mike Garofolo]

  My take: This extension signals Warren will continue to be a major part of the Steelers plans, both this year and through 2027. The timing is curious whether this happened as a result of what they’ve seen out of Kaleb Johnson or merely a coincidence they extend Warren as Johnson had early struggles. Not majorly changing my priors but reaffirming the role Warren will have and the likely capped upside for Johnson.

• Full injury report coming later this week but for now, quite a few people returned to practice or were taken off the injury report. Positive momentum for the following in trending towards playing week 1: Jaydon Blue, Dallas Goedert, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Quentin Johnston, Matthew Stafford, Najee Harris, Jauan Jennings, Cade Otton, Darren Waller, Tyreek Hill, De’Von Achane, and Rachaad White.
