📝 News & Notes

Jakobi Meyers “for sure” still wants to be traded from Raiders [Ryan McFadden]
My take: Meyers is in the final year of his contract and the Raiders have no need for him to stay. They’re not developing their QB of the future; they’re not in contention for the playoffs. May as well send away a player that doesn’t want to be there and get whatever you can in return (so long as it’s more than the projected compensatory pick).

Vikings designate Aaron Jones to return from IR, giving him a chance to play this Thursday [Tom Pelissero]
My take: If Jones is able to get a full practice Wednesday and is active Thursday, I think we can expect him to have 80-90% of his pre-injury role. With so many injuries and byes this week, I imagine he’d be in the flex range for most teams. It’ll be important to follow the coachspeak over the next couple days for any hints as to his healthy and role.

All signs are pointing to Tyrod Taylor taking over as starter for the Jets [Rich Cimini]
My take: It’s going to be hard for any QB to have success with this Jets team but it looks like Tyrod Taylor will get his chance. I’d call this a slight upgrade for the rest of the Jets skill players.

📝 FF Market: Buy / Sell / Hold

Week 1: BUY Zach Charbonnet, SELL Aaron Jones, HOLD Jaylen Waddle
Week 2: BUY Brian Thomas Jr., SELL James Cook, HOLD AJ Brown & DeVonta Smith
Week 3: BUY Jaylen Warren, SELL David Montgomery, HOLD Derrick Henry
Week 4: BUY Tetairoa McMillan, SELL Alvin Kamara, HOLD Jake Ferguson
Week 5: No buy/sell/hold given
Week 6: BUY Brock Bowers, SELL Hollywood Brown, HOLD Rico Dowdle

Emeka Egbuka: BUY
This might be difficult as in many leagues it’d be buying high, but I think what we’re going to see out of Egbuka going forward is worth it. Evans is out until at least December and Godwin’s injury status remains up in the air. The Bucs are going to be in shootouts with their defense being a pass funnel and I wouldn’t be surprised if Egbuka is hovering around 10 targets a game.

DK Metcalf: SELL
Metcalf had 4 straight games with a touchdown prior to this past week, despite only averaging 6 targets per game. With WRs around the league becoming available, there’s a strong chance the Steelers get their #2 WR that will likely further limit Metcalf’s volume. Combine the TD regression and the potential for more target competition and Metcalf is a current sell.

Rome Odunze: HOLD
Odunze is coming off back-to-back two-reception games for only 31 and 32 yards with no TDs. His target share has decreased but he still appears to be Caleb’s favorite target and in games the Bears aren’t leading, the total passing volume should be greater and we may see Caleb lean more on his top target. I’d even acquire Odunze if someone is selling at a discount but my guess is people haven’t quite given up on him yet.
