• Justin Fields (after scaring fans with a cart to the locker room) sustained a dislocated toe in his right foot and will be day-to-day [New York Jets]

  My take: It’s still not great that a QB whose best fantasy value is running dislocated a toe but with 6 weeks until the league starting, I am not concerned or docking his ranking.

• Baker Mayfield absolutely raved about rookie WR Emeka Egbuka, saying he is “is an absolute stud…the real deal” and “we can plug and play him at any of the three receiver spots right now” [Pat Thorman]

  My take: It may be hard to predict on a weekly basis but this WR room will be competing for best in the league. Not the most likely outcome but I wouldn’t be shocked if you told me Egbuka ends up the highest projected WR on the team come week 17. Biggest question mark here is Jalen McMillan as he’s gotten camp buzz but there just isn’t much room.

• Kyle Pitts cleared to practice and been working with the WRs [Will McFadden]

  My take: I feel like Charlie Brown about to kick the football but I’m back in on Kyle Pitts this year. This is his lowest price yet and no TE drafted around him has near the upside. If he ends up with a poor season, it’ll only cost you a late-round pick.

📊 Poll of the Day

Chargers the runaway leader, likely driven by Keenan Allen’s comments of prioritizing LA teams, but not sure it’s the right fit for them with McConkey thriving in the slot. 49ers could be a fun fit given the injury concerns and they have plenty of cap space. And Steelers feels like the biggest WR needy team and have shown a desire and willingness to deal but not sure if Allen is willing to play in the cold.

My dark horse pick would be the Cardinals. 4th most cap space, indoor games / warm weather, and open opportunity for his current skill set (primarily in slot, could compete with Michael Wilson for 2-WR sets).
