📝 News & Notes

• Rashee Rice and Jordan Addison both have gained clarity on their legal situations, giving us more insight into their likely suspensions. CBS NFL Insider Jonathan Jones set the expected range at 1-3 games for Addison and 5-7 for Rice, both to be served this year [Jonathan Jones]

  My take: This doesn’t change anything with Addison as this was always the expected suspension range for this year. Not the case with Rice as 1) we weren’t sure if there would even be a suspension this year and 2) 5-7 games is more than market would have projected. I’ll be holding off on taking Rice until he gets to the 5th round and for redraft, it’s probably a round or two later.

• Anthony Richardson looks to be fully recovered from shoulder injury, though will likely start training camp on pitch count [Stephen Holder]

  My take: This is obviously good news for Richardson but far from makes him the de facto or even favorite to win the starting QB job. I am still putting Daniel Jones around 60-65% to be the Week 1 QB but that doesn’t mean Richardson can’t get his chances mid-season. Richardson a common QB3 for me in 20-round formats and a great late pick in home leagues given you can drop him week 1 if he’s not the starter.

• RJ Harvey and Tre Harris sign their 2nd round rookie deals [Luca Evans, Ian Rapoport]

  My take: Always was the expectation but still good to see. I imagine we’ll be seeing the majority of the 28/32 other unsigned 2nd rounders following suit soon.

• Mike Williams announces retirement, opening door for Quentin Johnston and Tre Harris to ascend [Ian Rapoport]

  My take: While this sets up QJ and Harris well as the starting WRs alongside McConkey, they’re not completely safe from potential incoming veteran Keenan Allen. Allen recently named the Chargers as one of his three places he’d be willing to play and Harbaugh seems open to it. We’ll keep an eye on the Coachspeak Index for if any other insights are shared.
