Decoding Beat Writer Buzz
And an ADP Tracker
š News & Notes
With a few weeks before training camp begins, our news is primarily quotes from coaches and GMs or beat reporters giving their takes. The challenge is itās difficult to discern whether a beat reporter is just giving us their guess of what will happen or if they actually have some inside information from team sources. Thereās far from a perfect science but itās often doing your best to read between the lines for each article. Here are some of the recent examples
Eagles beat reporter Andrew DiCecco believes āthere could be more varianceā in the run/pass split for the Eagles this year with a new OC [insidethebirds.com]
My take: Intuitively it makes sense but unlikely thereās any inside information driving this. If you use a siteās ranks, this variance is likely priced in.
The Athletic published their āone key observation for every teamā with beat reporters giving takes such as āthe George Pickens hype is understandable,ā the Chiefs will ālook for more emphasis on explosionā in their passing game, and Justin Herbertās new āadditions are going to make Ladd McConkey even more dangerous.ā [The Athletic]
My take: These pieces are often reminders of things we already know, or worse, unactionable fluff. I wouldnāt adjust anything off this.
According to Zack Rosenblatt, the Jets are trying to replicate Detroitās offensive success by surrounding their QB with explosive weapons, much like the Lions did with Jared Goff. Specifically discussing the similarities such as drafting TE Mason Taylor and WR Arian Smith replicating Sam LaPorta and speedster Jameson Williams. With the big potential fantasy payoff being comparing Breece Hall and Braelon Allen to a āa pseudo-Jahmyr Gibbs-David Montgomery duo.ā [The Athletic]
My take: This feels more grounded, likely based on team conversations, not just observation. While itās obviously a light version of the Lions, the logic tracks. At Allenās current ADP, the upside is intriguing and Iāll be adding more Allen going forward.

š Risers
Evan Engram - This is likely the result of Jonnu falling and no other TEs being available in this part of the draft. This is not an ADP I want to be chasing.
DāAndre Swift - Swiftās rise is the result of increased confidence there will not be any additional competition in Chicago. Iām still buying.
Alvin Kamara - Classic RB veteran riser. Iād rather have Hubbard and KWIII.
Rome Odunze - Donāt understand this rise but I think heās a fine pick.
DK Metcalf - Delayed rise from Rodgers signing, fine pick with wide range of outcomes.
Rashee Rice - You all know my thoughts from last week. Fine here but done buying once he gets to McConkey / Achane.
š Fallers
Travis Hunter - Likely aligns to GM James Gladstoneās comments we discussed last week. Iām definitely concerned at this price.
RJ Harvey - Continued falling after the Dobbins signing. Expecting price to be cheaper before I start drafting.
Jordan Addison - People are going to remain scared on Addison until his court case clears. I think the suspension is already baked into the price, though. And love the week 17 matchup vs DET.
Joe Mixon - Aligns with last weekās note about the slight change in wording regarding his injury. Mostly a fade for me.
Jared Goff - Still slightly overpriced but fine to draft when stacking.
Terry McLaurin - ADP was a bit high but now coming back to where it should be. Someone I target more on UD than DK/Drafters.
š Poll of the Day
Fairly split results to yesterdayās poll which isnāt surprising given the ambiguity of the situation. If we do get positive news on Anthony Richardson as the likely starter, I will be more than happy to chase that.
For today, I am curious what you all as FFin60 early adopters think of an idea a couple of you left as feedback in the survey. Would you want there to be an FFin60 Discord? I have mixed thoughts so figured Iād reach out to you all first.
