• TJ Hockenson and Tucker Kraft both return to practice after recent injury scares [Ben Goessling and Weston Hodkiewicz]

  My take: During the preseason I usually take advantage of injuries like these to get an extra round or two of volume but after last year, I got punished by many of those players’ injuries bleeding into the season or hurting their fantasy performance. I am trying to play it on a case-by-case basis, doing more research into the severity of the injuries and reinjury risk. I’m also more willing to take risks now than when we get closer to the season kicking off.

  My take: Tyreek missing practice without an official injury update adds to the string of concerning, odd moments this offseason. In the past couple days, I’ve drafted the following players above him: Chase Brown, Bucky Irving, Josh Jacobs, Tee Higgins, and Trey McBride.

• RJ Harvey is listed as fifth string RB on depth chart

  My take: I will use this rather extreme example to make it clear how little credence I give to preseason depth charts. They mean virtually nothing and if the market is going to react at all, I will take the value.

• Every first round WR is getting talked up this week. Which is to be expected as their teams just invested high draft capital at an important position. Just be careful not to double-count these reports when early impacts are likely already accounted for in projections.

Yesterday I asked: Where do you think Keenan Allen’s ADP settles?

Answers were pretty spread out but majority were thinking around rounds 12-14. My initial guess was between rounds 11-12, with him going just behind the Christian Kirk tier. I’m likely going to be taking him while he’s climbing but do not believe he’ll be a heavy target for me once he starts going in the 13th.
