Thursday's practice reports are in, and the Sunday slate just got a lot more complicated at the top of your lineup. But first, a new way to profit off your fantasy football knowledge.
📊 Weekly Fantasy Finish Markets
Want to capitalize on your fantasy knowledge beyond just your home leagues or DFS? Now you can by projecting who will finish 1st or Top 5 at their position. Kalshi and Polymarket now run weekly fantasy finish markets, where you can trade on whether a player finishes first at his position for the week, with Kalshi adding top-five finishes too.
That is where our weekly free article comes in. We run 50,000 simulated weeks and count how often each player leads his position or lands in the top five. Not surprisingly, this week it has Jahmyr Gibbs as the strongest top-one favorite at 19.1% to lead running backs and 53.5% to finish top five, with Brock Bowers nudging ahead of Trey McBride at tight end. Read the Week 4 favorites and the model's reasoning here.
📝 News & Notes
Justin Jefferson (ankle) did not practice Thursday as he continues his recovery from the first quarter injury against the Bucs
My take: a DNP on Thursday is not where you want your WR1 sitting two days out. My expectation is he misses this week, particularly when the Vikings are double-digit favorites. Let him rest at least one more week.
DeVonta Smith missed back-to-back practices and is looking like he’ll miss this weekend’s game vs the Rams.
My take: with Dallas Goedert already sidelined, the Eagles are going to be hurting for healthy pass catchers in a game they’ll likely need to throw to keep up with the Rams. Hard to imagine Dontayvion Wicks is likely the #1 pass catching option for Hurts.
Puka Nacua (hip) was a limited participant Thursday, and Sean McVay said he expects him to play Sunday in Philadelphia.
My take: this is the good-news item of the day. After two missed games, limited plus McVay optimism is the trend you want. I’d still start Davante Adams but expectations should be managed compared to when Puka was sidelined.
Nico Collins and Zay Flowers took their hamstrings in opposite directions Thursday, as Collins limited again in Houston while Flowers returned to full in Baltimore.
My take: Flowers back to full is a green light, start him with confidence against Tennessee, and Lamar Jackson (back) going full only sweetens it. Collins is still a Friday-practice-or-bust situation, so keep a pivot warm if you are relying on him.
