📝 News & Notes

Camp's injury bug is working overtime: Love, Tyson, Monangai, and now Breece Hall all left banged up, while Kraft and Kittle took positive steps back toward playing.

Jeremiyah Love (ARI, RB) landed a high ankle sprain and is unlikely to play again this preseason, with Arizona hoping he's ready for the Sept. 13 opener at the Chargers.
My take: High ankle sprains don't just cost time, they have a history of sapping efficiency even once a back is active again. I’m not dropping him below the next tier of RBs but I am taking more of the round 3 WRs ahead of him as I wait to get a better discount.

Jordyn Tyson (NO, WR) left practice with a hamstring, and Kellen Moore said the Saints are still in "collection mode" on a timeline that could linger into the season.
My take: Tyson has a history of hamstring injuries and early reports are this could be a multi-month injury. The Saints play in Paris week 7, have a bye week 8, not to mention go to MetLife Stadium in week 9. I wouldn’t expect him back until week 9 at the earliest and risk of a lost season even if he comes back is in play. I doubt his ADP will fall far enough for me to continue drafting him but I will definitely be scooping up Chris Olave, Juwan Johnson, DeVaughn Vele.

Kyle Monangai (CHI, RB) banged his right knee on a hit from behind, but initial tests had it structurally sound with an MRI to confirm, and the Bears are optimistic. Estimates are currently a multi-week absence.
My take: I already had D’Andre Swift as a strong pick but this further solidifies it. I wasn’t taking much Monangai but if he falls, think he’s a solid pick as this shouldn’t linger much into the season.

Breece Hall (NYJ, RB) left Monday's practice early with a groin injury, a flag on a back who had been dominating first-team snaps all camp.
My take: No timeline yet but I think we’ll know more fairly soon. In the meantime, I’ll allow the people not paying as much attention to continue drafting him in the third.

Tucker Kraft (GB, TE) returned to 11-on-11 for the first time since his ACL tear and went five-for-five with a score, though Green Bay plans to build his snaps up week by week until midseason.
My take: People are overreacting to the ramp up news as he’s been falling as much as a round or two since the news. I’m bullish on the offense as a whole and think this is overall a solid timeline and approach to managing his early workload.

George Kittle (SF, TE) says he doesn't expect to open on PUP and is closing in on the Sept. 10 opener in Australia.
My take: The market has still not priced in that Kittle is likely to be healthy either Week 1 or Week 2 of the regular season. You don’t love a 33-year old coming off an Achilles injury but the price is clearly accounting for that. I’ll continue packing my bags.

Keenan Allen (WR, IND) to sign a 1-year deal with the Colts for up to $8.23M.
My take: Still digesting this one as the news came in at 11pm ET. First thoughts are this is a major downgrade to Josh Downs, a small downgrade to Tyler Warren and Alec Pierce, and a wash for Daniel Jones. Keenan Allen moves up to a fine 13th round pick.
