📝 News & Notes

Monday's practices were the last real look at Week 1 bodies, and for the biggest names on your board things are looking pretty good.

Ja'Marr Chase (CIN, WR) was in uniform for Monday's practice as he works back from a knee issue, and running mate Tee Higgins (heel) suited up right alongside him. Bengals offense has struggled in recent years, scoring fewer than 20 points in 7 of their last 10 season openers. This year they at least cannot blame health of their stud WRs.

D'Andre Swift (CHI, RB) returned to practice Monday, so Thursday's midsection scare was exactly the cramping the beat suspected, no lingering issue. The Bears news that is worth watching is Rome Odunze, who did not practice Monday with a leg injury, while Kyle Monangai (knee) got back on the field.

TreVeyon Henderson (NE, RB) was sidelined again Monday and was not spotted during the open portion of practice, and the timing could not be tighter: the Patriots open the entire season Wednesday night in the kickoff game. There's no late-scratch bailout when your back plays the very first snap of Week 1.

Jeremiyah Love (ARI, RB) got the update his drafters wanted, with coach Mike LaFleur calling himself "optimistic" the rookie (ankle) plays Sunday against the Chargers. He's been working back from a preseason ankle sprain. If he does play, expect him to still be in a time share with Tyler Allgeier to start the season.

Emeka Egbuka (TB, WR) was participating in warmups and running routes Monday as he manages a toe injury, and fellow Buc Jalen McMillan (knee) was also back running routes. Both are trending toward the opener.

Elsewhere: Zach Charbonnet (knee) looks "awesome" in his ACL rehab per Mike Macdonald; Alec Pierce should be good to go for the Colts' opener; the Giants released Darius Slayton; and Sean Tucker is shaping up as a game-time decision in Tampa.
