Camp handed us a new tight end in Carolina, two hamstrings worth monitoring, and an availability clear in Kansas City, so let's get to it.

Darren Waller (CAR, TE) is back. Carolina agreed to a one-year deal with the 33-year-old on Wednesday, reuniting him with Darrell Bevell, the coach who ran the Miami offense he scored six touchdowns in nine games in last season. Mike Kaye reported the move wasn't injury-driven.
My take: A red-zone bet, not a volume one. He's undrafted in Underdog right now, so he's a free last-round dart with real touchdown equity in a thin Panthers room. Ja'Tavion Sanders takes the hit.

Chuba Hubbard (CAR, RB) is banged up. Hubbard sat out Thursday and Dave Canales said he's week-to-week with a hamstring after an MRI, though he's "very confident" Hubbard is ready for Week 1. Jonathon Brooks now takes the bigger role Saturday at Buffalo instead of splitting.
My take: Not season-altering, but it clears the runway for Brooks, who was already going a touch ahead at RB30, pick 85. Hubbard slips to RB32, pick 88. I expect to see that gap widen over the next few weeks.

Jordyn Tyson (NO, WR) gave the Saints a scare. The eighth overall pick exited Thursday's joint practice with a hamstring, though Kellen Moore and early reports called it not serious.
My take: Not great. I’ve been very bullish on Tyson and think he could have a huge year but he has a histroy ot soft-tissue injuries and that’s the last thing you want from a rookie. Devaughn Vele remains a favorite 20th round pick on DraftKings for best ball.

Rashee Rice (KC, WR) got the availability news drafters wanted. Ian Rapoport doesn't expect further league discipline tied to the probation violation that put Rice in jail for 30 days this summer, because he was already punished for the underlying case.
My take: The last cloud lifts. A full year catching passes from Mahomes, and remember he caught 79 balls as a rookie. WR12 at pick 25 is a third-round price I'm happy to pay.

Tua Tagovailoa (ATL, QB) will start Friday, but that's not the story. Kevin Stefanski named Tua the preseason-opener starter against Denver while pointedly refusing to call him the Week 1 guy, and Michael Penix Jr. says a doctor told him his repaired ACL is in excellent shape.
My take: An open competition in mid-August is a fade signal for both. Tua's QB31, Penix QB36, pure dart territory. If forced, I'll take Penix's upside, but I'd rather spend the pick elsewhere.

Cam Skattebo (NYG, RB) might be in line for more of a timeshare than initially considered. The Giants' first depth chart lists Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy as co-starters, and Dan Duggan notes the staff has been managing Skattebo's reps coming off his ankle injury, with Tracy handling the two-minute work.
My take: I don’t usually read much into depth charts but occasionally you see something like this that makes you ask why. I don’t know the answer but it does give me concern for the workhorse role, in addition to the efficiency concerns coming off the injury.
