Week 5 was a bloodbath on the injury front. The Eagles finished the day without their top three running backs and DeVonta Smith, while Deebo Samuel and David Montgomery went down mid-game and Quinshon Judkins limped off in a walking boot. Mix in a 19-17 Jaguars upset of the Eagles, Drake Maye torching the Raiders for four scores, and a 27-27 Giants-Commanders tie, and there is a lot to sort through. Here are the big things you need to know for each team.

📝 Week 5 Key Takeaways

PHI - Philadelphia lost Will Shipley (foot) in the first half on top of Saquon Barkley (hamstring) and Tank Bigsby (IR), leaving Dameon Pierce as the lead back and the top waiver priority if Barkley misses anymore time; Dallas Goedert returned at tight end.

JAX - Bhayshul Tuten's early-down snap share spiked to a career-high 87.5% on 22 carries in the upset win, and Parker Washington stepped up with 6 catches for 124 yards and two scores.

CHI - With Caleb Williams out a third straight week (hamstring, though he could return Week 6), D'Andre Swift is a buy-low after a quiet 9-43-1 rushing line in a 31-7 blowout loss.

GB - MarShawn Lloyd is the clear lead back now that Chris Brooks is on IR and Kaleb Johnson is being phased out; Lloyd scored twice and Christian Watson erupted for 6-143-2.

CIN - Joe Burrow threw four touchdowns with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins both active, but watch Samaje Perine (14-68) eating into Chase Brown's early-down work after Brown mustered just 13-39.

MIA - Ollie Gordon II (18-88-1) is the lead back with De'Von Achane out for the year, but Malik Willis's two interceptions capped Miami's ceiling in a 31-24 loss.

LV - Brock Bowers continued to display his overall TE1 ability after an 8-110-1 day, but Ashton Jeanty (ankle) was clearly limited at 10-27. Cousins struggled and Mendoza saw his first action in garbage time of the blowout.

NE - Drake Maye lit up the Raiders for 374 yards and four touchdowns; TreVeyon Henderson left with an ankle injury, which would make Rhamondre Stevenson a must-start next week.

MIN - Aaron Jones played a season-high 87.3% of snaps and ran for 113 and a score, making now the time to sell high with Jordan Mason due back after the bye; Justin Jefferson (6-79-1) looked like himself.

NO - Alvin Kamara barely played through a back injury (five snaps over the first three quarters), pushing Kendre Miller, who scored, into waiver-add territory.

CLE - The Browns backfield is one to avoid: Quinshon Judkins left in a walking boot and Raheim Sanders exited with a hip injury; Isaiah Bond (3-74) is the deep-league receiver to watch.

NYJ - Braelon Allen dominated with Breece Hall out again (quad), going 24-116-1, and Garrett Wilson added 7-104-1.

IND - Tight end Tyler Warren led the Colts in receiving (7-83) while Jonathan Taylor's snap share keeps slipping after a 15-45 ground line. The offense’s struggles are hurting Taylor’s fantasy value.

PIT - Jaylen Warren was the story of the day with 101 rushing yards and 87 receiving on two touchdowns, and Germie Bernard (6-80) becomes a top waiver add with Michael Pittman Jr. on IR - especially after this rapport he’s building with Rodgers.

HOU - David Montgomery (groin) did not return, handing Woody Marks a 47-of-48-snap workload and making him the week's clearest waiver add if available; Houston also traded for Marvin Harrison Jr.

TEN - Tyjae Spears pushed past 50% of snaps for the first time (nine catches) as the 0-5 Titans would be sharp to try and trade Tony Pollard in a lost season.

NYG - Jameis Winston slung it for 326 yards and three scores in place of Jaxson Dart, and Malik Nabers reeled in 11 catches for 121 and a touchdown.

WSH - Jayden Daniels ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-27 tie, though Deepak Chona flags a very high in-season re-injury risk on the ankle; Chig Okonkwo (4-60) performed well with Diggs out and McLaurin limited.

DEN - J.K. Dobbins ground out 18-68-1 in a low-volume passing game, while Bo Nix (123 yards) continues to struggle. This entire offense becoming an avoid.

LAC - Kimani Vidal may be taking over the backfield, popping a 42-yard touchdown as Omarion Hampton's snap share fell to 43.6%; Justin Herbert managed just 121 yards. Similar to Denver, not sure anyone is worth starting in this offense.

DET - Jahmyr Gibbs went for 25-151-2 and Jameson Williams scored twice on a career-deep target day as the Lions rolled 45-21.

ARI - Marvin Harrison Jr. was a healthy inactive ahead of his trade to Houston, and Jacoby Brissett's three touchdowns all came in garbage time of the blowout loss. The Cardinals are unwilling to use Jeremiyah Love in any creative ways.

SF - Christian McCaffrey (11-68-1) and Mike Evans (7-113-1, playing through a rib injury) carried the offense as Brock Purdy returned for two scores, but three of the five receivers got banged up and Deebo Samuel left with a hamstring.

SEA - Jaxon Smith-Njigba stayed the clear WR1 (5-102-1) and Cooper Kupp returned to full-time work (81% of snaps), but Sam Darnold's two interceptions doomed Seattle in the 32-29 loss.

⚕️ Injury Corner w/ Deepak Chona

Lamar Jackson (BAL): Mild medial/high ankle, averages 1 to 2 weeks. Solid chance to return Week 6 pending practice progress, with a mild dip in rushing likely.

Saquon Barkley (PHI): Averages about 2 to 3 weeks. Week 6 is possible, but the data favors missing it and returning Week 7 or 8.

Jayden Daniels (WSH): Ominous reports on his in-season re-injury likelihood. "If, not when" may be strong, but the re-injury risk is likely very high.

DeVonta Smith (PHI): Running at the end of the week suggests he is trending toward a Week 6 or 7 return, with the data slightly favoring Week 6, but added re-injury risk.

Deebo Samuel (SF): Hamstring, MRI Monday and video suggests moderate severity. Averages about 3 weeks, and re-injury risk can run as high as 20%.

TreVeyon Henderson (NE): Re-injured the same ankle that cost him Week 1. Most would miss at least Week 6, with re-injury the concern upon return.

Quinshon Judkins (CLE): In a boot. Concern is elevated because it is the same side as his 2025 fracture. Suspecting a sprain, which often means a dip in touches.

David Montgomery (HOU): Groin, averages 1 to 2 weeks. Most would miss at least Week 6, and playing through it would typically mean a reduced workload.

T.J. Hockenson (MIN): Concussion. About two-thirds would miss one week, but he has a Week 6 bye, so the data favors playing Week 7 without a dip.

Caleb Williams (CHI): Practiced Friday. The data favors a Week 6 return, with re-injury risk around 15%.

Will Shipley (PHI): Foot, diagnosis unclear. The most common outcome is a mid-foot sprain, which would average about 3 weeks.

KC Concepcion (CLE): Concussion, averages about 8 days. One-third would return Week 6; most miss one week and return the next without a dip.

Kenyon Sadiq (NYJ): Concussion. About one-third would play Week 6, but most would return Week 7 without a dip.
