📝 News & Notes
Marvin Harrison Jr. is a Texan now. Houston landed the former No. 4 overall pick (plus a 2027 sixth) from Arizona for a 2027 second and seventh, giving C.J. Stroud a true running mate opposite Nico Collins.
My take: Harrison’s a boom-bust WR3 in a brand new system this week, but the sneakier fantasy winner is in Arizona, where Kendrick Bourne slides into the WR2 role behind Michael Wilson and is worth a cheap flier.
The Eagles’ backfield is down to one healthy body. Will Shipley’s plantar fascia tear could cost him multiple weeks, and with Tank Bigsby already on IR and Saquon Barkley (hamstring) only hopeful for Week 6 against Carolina, Dameon Pierce is the last man standing.
My take: Pierce is the top waiver priority in the league this week. If Saquon sits, Pierce is a volume-based RB2 in a plus matchup, and even if Saquon plays through it you’re grabbing the handcuff with zero competition behind him.
Deebo Samuel is going to miss some time. Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers receiver will miss some time with the hamstring injury that flared up in San Francisco’s Week 5 game.
My take: Hold him if you have the bench room, but don’t expect the targets to flow to Jauan Jennings in his absence. The targets flow to CMC, George Kittle, and Mike Evans while Deebo heals.
Elsewhere: Lamar Jackson (ankle) has a real shot to return in Week 6, Caleb Williams is trending toward playing after practicing Friday, and TreVeyon Henderson re-injured the same ankle, which makes Rhamondre Stevenson a must-start if you have him.
📝 Waiver Wire Report
Running Backs
Dameon Pierce (PHI) With Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley, and Tank Bigsby all banged up or out, Pierce is the clear lead back in a Week 6 matchup with Carolina if Saquon sits, and he’s rostered in just 2% of leagues. Spend up. FAAB: 12-15%
Kimani Vidal (LAC) Vidal broke off a 42-yard touchdown and is pushing for a bigger slice of the Chargers backfield. Multiple ways he could prove value, by either continuing to earn a larger workload or an injury to either Keaton Mitchell or Omarion Hampton. FAAB: 5-10%
Kendre Miller (NO) Alvin Kamara played just five snaps through three quarters on Sunday and Miller is quietly taking over the early-down work. A sneaky stash while Kamara’s role shrinks. FAAB: 3-7%
Dylan Sampson (CLE) Eligible to come off IR into a Browns backfield where Quinshon Judkins is in a boot and Raheim Sanders is dealing with a hip. Speculative, but the opportunity could open fast. FAAB: 2-5%
Wide Receivers
Germie Bernard (PIT) Bernard led the Steelers in targets Sunday with a 6-80 line while Michael Pittman Jr. sits on IR and Roman Wilson misses multiple weeks. The clearest path to volume of any receiver on waivers and don’t forget about the rapport he’s showing with Rodgers. FAAB: 6-12%
Keenan Allen (IND) Nine targets in each of his last two games in a rising Colts offense. Pure PPR floor if you need a steady WR3. FAAB: 4-8%
Kendrick Bourne (ARI) With Marvin Harrison Jr. traded to Houston, Bourne steps into the WR2 role opposite Michael Wilson. Cheap dart throw with standalone value. FAAB: 3-7%
Efton Chism III (NE) Chism has quietly led the Patriots in targets, and Drake Maye is rolling after a 374-yard, four-touchdown Sunday. With A.J. Brown still working back from IR, Chism is a near-free deep-league flier. FAAB: 0-3%
Tight Ends
Darren Waller (CAR) Waller remains a red-zone magnet with weekly starter upside, and he’s out there in nearly 80% of leagues. Streaming tight ends can do a lot worse. FAAB: 3-7%
Chigoziem Okonkwo (WAS) Okonkwo posted 4-60 with Stefon Diggs out and has real chemistry with Jayden Daniels now that both are healthy. FAAB: 1-4%
Quarterbacks
C.J. Stroud (HOU) Houston just traded for Marvin Harrison Jr. to line up opposite Nico Collins, giving Stroud two real outside weapons. He’s a strong streamer with weekly QB1 upside, worth adding anywhere he’s still out there. FAAB: 3-8%
Aaron Rodgers (PIT) Rodgers has thrown three touchdowns in each of his last three games. The matchup with Tampa Bay is beatable through the air. FAAB: 2-5%
Jameis Winston (NYG) Jaxson Dart is out for the regular season, so Winston has the job for good after throwing for 326 yards and three scores on Sunday. With Malik Nabers to throw to, he’s a legit streamer. FAAB: 1-4%
