📝 News & Notes
Trade deadline day is next Tuesday and we’ve got a few names we’re watching. Jonathan Taylor's name keeps surfacing with the Broncos currently the favorite on Kalshi for where he’ll land. Tony Pollard and George Pickens have drawn chatter and the Chiefs keep hunting for receiver help, with Brian Thomas Jr. a popular name. Also outside chance at veteran WRs like Jerry Jeudy or Calvin Ridley getting moved.

Gardner Minshew will open Week 9 as the Cardinals' starter after replacing a benched Jacoby Brissett and leading Sunday's overtime comeback, with Brissett tumbling all the way to No. 3 on the depth chart. The bigger fantasy news came in the backfield and at receiver, where Tyler Allgeier erupted for 33.6 half-PPR points (11-147-TD rushing, 5-44-TD receiving) once Jeremiyah Love re-aggravated his ankle and Bam Knight (concussion) exited, while Kendrick Bourne is out for the season with a fractured tibia.
My take: Allgeier is the headline add this week (owned in 52% of leagues), and with the receiver room thin, Trey McBride and a rib-injured Michael Wilson should keep soaking up targets in Seattle. Minshew is a deep-league stream only.
The Ravens' quarterback room is in disarray heading into Thursday's visit from Jacksonville. With Lamar Jackson headed for surgery and injured reserve, head coach Jesse Minter said Monday that Tyler Huntley (turf toe) probably will not play on the short week and that Joe Fagnano (knee) is only a chance to go.
My take: I expect the Ravens to look for an upgrade via trade before the deadline but the options aren’t great. This is overall a major downgrade for the entire offense.
Elsewhere: Matthew Stafford is managing some arm soreness after the Rams' win, though Sean McVay downplayed it. David Njoku's practice window is expected to open this week in Los Angeles, which could cut into Oronde Gadsden II's recent target spike. And Jeremy McNichols is likely to miss multiple months with a foot injury.
📝 Waiver Wire Report
Running Backs
Tyler Allgeier (ARI) is the top add on the board, available in 48% of leagues, so grab him anywhere he was dropped during his quiet two-week stretch. He took every second-half and overtime snap once Jeremiyah Love (ankle) and Bam Knight (concussion) left, turning it into 33.6 half-PPR points. With both backs in doubt for Week 9 at Seattle, he profiles as a high-end RB2. FAAB: 30-45%.
Mike Washington Jr. (LV) flipped the Raiders' backfield on its head, out-touching Ashton Jeanty 25 to five and playing 38 snaps to Jeanty's 25, including eight of the team's 10 goal-line snaps. Klint Kubiak called Jeanty's reduced role by design, so even if the carry split evens out, Washington looks like the back to own the goal line. He is a flex play at San Francisco. FAAB: 20-35%.
Emmett Johnson (KC) is a not-so-sneaky PPR add after the rookie caught all five of his targets for 128 yards and a touchdown, including a 73-yard score. Kenneth Walker III still handles the early-down grind, but Johnson has carved out a passing-down role and should keep seeing a handful of targets with real explosive upside hosting the Jets. FAAB: 10-18%.
Dylan Sampson (CLE) has settled into Cleveland's passing-down job, logging nine touches in each of the last two weeks and out-snapping Quinshon Judkins as the Browns trailed. He is locked into roughly eight to 12 touches with extra value in negative scripts, which should be common at New Orleans. FAAB: 5-10%.
Seth McGowan (IND) is purely a trade-deadline stash, but a timely one with the deadline next Tuesday. The Colts have already dealt Buckner and Nelson, and if Jonathan Taylor is the next to go, McGowan steps into a 15-plus touch role overnight. Low cost, high contingency upside. FAAB: 5-10%.
Wide Receivers
Adonai Mitchell (NYJ) is the top receiver add where he is still out there, rostered in just 11% of leagues after a career day: seven catches for 142 yards and a touchdown on nine targets, playing 95% of the Jets' 11-personnel snaps. Garrett Wilson and Omar Cooper Jr. make him boom-or-bust week to week, but the talent and the Geno Smith rapport are real. FAAB: 10-15%.
Antonio Williams (WAS) has back-to-back games over 50 receiving yards since Terry McLaurin's season-ending knee injury, and he now sits near the top of Jayden Daniels' target hierarchy behind only Stefon Diggs. FAAB: 10-15%.
DeMario Douglas (NE) remains New England's locked-in slot man and led the team with 76 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. With A.J. Brown fighting a high-ankle and knee issue and Romeo Doubs on IR, Douglas's floor is secure even in a spread-it-around attack against Green Bay. FAAB: 8-15%.
Caleb Douglas (MIA) led all Miami receivers in snaps, routes and targets on Sunday, and the rookie already has a two-touchdown game on his resume. The offense is volatile, so he is a boom-or-bust WR4, but the usage is trending the right way against Detroit. FAAB: 8-15%.
Ryan Flournoy (DAL) keeps absorbing George Pickens's vacated reps and has three double-digit half-PPR games in his last four, scoring the Cowboys' only receiving touchdown Sunday. With Pickens banged up and a trade candidate, Flournoy is a sneaky bench stash in a fast-paced offense at Indianapolis. FAAB: 5-10%.
Tight Ends
Chig Okonkwo (WAS) is the priority tight end add with Terry McLaurin out for the year. He is battling Antonio Williams to be Jayden Daniels' top target behind Stefon Diggs and profiles as a high-end TE2 the rest of the way. FAAB: 10-18%.
Mike Gesicki (CIN) keeps finding the end zone, having scored in every game he has been active for, and his snap rate spiked to a season-high 67.6% (including 90% of third downs) with Erick All and Tanner Hudson both done for the year. He is a touchdown-dependent TE2, but betting on him is really a bet on Joe Burrow. FAAB: 5-12%.
Quarterbacks
Malik Willis (MIA) carries a streamer's floor thanks to his legs, having run at least eight times in three of his last four games while adding two touchdowns Sunday. That rushing volume gives him a one-week ceiling at home against Detroit. FAAB: 3-7%.
Gardner Minshew (ARI) is a deep-league and superflex stream only, but he is freshly installed as the Cardinals' Week 9 starter after a three-touchdown relief performance. The matchup in Seattle is tough, so treat him as a dart throw rather than a confident start. FAAB: 2-5%.
