Looking ahead to the Fantasy Playoffs

As we enter the final week of fantasy football, we’ll start shifting to a lot of the content being for those considering playing in fantasy football playoff contests. This will include injury updates, playoff team insights, and strategy notes to help you master these contests.
There are a wide range of contests out there but one of my favorites each year is the FFPC Playoff Challenge. There is no drafting. You simply create your roster consisting of 12 NFL players to fill 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 4 W/R/T, 1 K, and 1 DST. The only other variable is that you can only select at most one player from each team.
I think there is substantial edge in this tournament if you understand the strategy and what to optimize for. I’ll go into more strategy angles and talk through how I’m approaching the contest this year but I wanted to get you all links ahead of time so you can join before they fill.

📝 News & Notes
The playoff field is not yet finalized, but we can confidently declare the following 12 teams in:
NFC: LAR, SEA, PHI, CHI, SF, GB. The last spot will go to either Tampa or Carolina.
AFC: DEN, NE, BUF, JAX, LAC, HOU. The Steelers are 93% to take the last spot.
The key injuries we are watching affecting these teams:
QB
GB Jordan Love - suffered a concussion in W16, unlikely to play W17 but should be good for W18 and the playoffs
BUF Josh Allen - left mid-game to get x-ray on foot, returned to play, not expecting any long-term issue but could lead to less running
RB
GB Josh Jacobs - he was clearly limited last week and the team has shown trust in Emanuel Wilson to fill-in as needed, feels like this will be a lingering injury and we should expect more of a split than the early part of the season
NE TreVeyon Henderson - left Sunday’s game with a head injury though we haven’t gotten clarity yet if he has entered the concussion protocol; shouldn’t impact the playoffs
JAX Bhayshul Tuten - underwent surgery on his finger which would have him out multiple weeks; team is saying he’ll be back for playoffs but no guarantee and with previous fumbling issues, I’d guess they lean heavily on Etienne
HOU Woody Marks - injury does not seem to be serious but the play of Jawhar Jordan (only Texan to have both a 100+ yd rushing game and a 5 reception game) could be concerning for Marks’ high volume role he had pre-injury
WR
LAR Davante Adams - missed Week 16 due to the hamstring injury, team is saying he could be back Week 17 so even if he misses, unlikely it lingers into playoffs
CHI Rome Odunze and Luther Burden - both missed Week 16 (Odunze has missed the past three weeks) and their status is still up in the air; i have more confidence in Burden returning soon than Odunze but that’s merely speculation
SF Ricky Pearsall - picked up two injuries in Week 15 and hasn’t practiced since
NE Kayshon Boutte and DeMario Douglas - both left Week 16 game with injuries
TE
SF George Kittle - left Monday’s game with an ankle injury and was Q to return, appeared to be a sprain with severity unknown
LAR Tyler Higbee - on IR and will not be activated before the Week 17 game; if he makes it back for playoff, will just be added competition for Parkinson and Ferguson
No judgment zone. We’ve all been sitting on our couch watching a lot of football. Just going to put this here…
