Pour one out for Chuba. Hello, Rico
Waiver priorities, FAAB ranges, and bye-week help

Have you checked out GameBlazers yet?
Fanball launched its DFS product in 2017. LeagueSafe was founded way back in 2008. And the high stakes National Fantasy Football Championships started up in 2004. Why the stroll down memory lane? Because GameBlazers is part of the SportsHub Games Network, the same group that backs Fanball, LeagueSafe, NFFC, and other popular fantasy sports products.
I’m proud to partner with GameBlazers and have loved playing on the app. And new users who use my FFin60 referral code will get a great bonus for doing so:

📝 News & Notes
Panthers HC Dave Canales reads Chuba Hubbard’s eulogy, saying he has “meant a lot to the team” and he “wanted to give him an opportunity following his calf injury” but “we cannot ignore the fact that Rico has been exceptional” [Joe Person]
My take: Pour one out for Chuba Hubbard as it sounds like the Panthers will be moving forward with Rico Dowdle as the lead back.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh says he is “very confident” Lamar Jackson will be back this week [Baltimore Beatdown]
My take: The Ravens haven’t been the most truthful with this injury but I believe them this time.
Cardinals release RB Michael Carter [Tom Pelissero]. But then reports are they plan to re-sign him. [Josh Weinfuss]
My take: I initially wrote about how Bam Knight would be a strong start this week against the Cowboys. But now I’m just confused. It’s as if the Cardinals accidentally hit the drop button and emailed the commish asking if they could get him back.
Vikings QB Carson Wentz undergoes season-ending shoulder surgery [Dianna Russini]
My take: This makes removes any doubt - this will be JJ McCarthy’s team as soon as he is healthy (likely this week).
Tyler Lockett signs with the Raiders
My take: Not interesting in itself but further opens the door for Jakobi Meyers to be traded
💰️ Waiver Wire Report
QB
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Brock Purdy, Kyler Murray
SEA Sam Darnold (1 - 2%): If you need a one-week start, San Darnold has a plus matchup vs the Commanders in Week 9. I wouldn’t trust him as a long-term option in 1QB leagues as his next five opponents after WAS are bottom 10 in giving up fantasy points to opposing QBs.
CIN Joe Flacco (1 - 2%): Another solid streaming option for Week 9, goes against a soft Bears defense giving up the 4th most fantasy points to opposing QBs. Since joining the Bengals, Flacco is averaging 261 passing yards, 2.33 TDs, and 0 INTs.
MIN JJ McCarthy (1 - 2%): Continues to show up on the waiver wire report for the same reasons. Yes, his floor is very low but he also has more upside than any other QB likely available.
RB
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Trey Benson, Bhayshul Tuten, Tyler Allgeier
NYG Tyrone Tracy Jr. (15 - 20%): Not often you can get a guy who projects to be the starting RB for the rest of the season on waivers. NYG isn’t great but Tracy’s pass-catching skills could make him a weekly RB2/Flex option.
CHI Kyle Monangai (2 - 3%): Securing his role as the handcuff to Swift, also eating into his workload (could be injury related for Swift)
PHI Tank Bigsby (1 - 2%): Bigsby moves up the handcuff ranks after showing his rushing ability in last week’s victory. Not expecting Barkley to miss any time due to last week’s injury but Bigsby still worthy a stash.
GB Emanuel Wilson (1% - 2%): Wilson has shown competence the past couple games as the complementary back to Jacobs, which increases confidence that if Jacobs missed time, Wilson would vault into RB2/Flex territory.
CLE Dylan Sampson (1 - 2%): Quinshon Judkins looks to be day-to-day and while I expect him to be back after their Week 9 bye, if he misses any time, Sampson becomes the 1a in this backfield. The role though is still limited by the Browns offense and Judkins gets the bye week to recover.
Players you can drop: Cam Skattebo, Michael Carter, Kenneth Gainwell
WR
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Jakobi Meyers, Ricky Pearsall, Chris Godwin Jr.,
GB Christian Watson (5 - 8%): Watson looked healthy in his first game back from injury, going 4/85/0 on 56% of the offensive snaps. Probably one of the better waiver wire WR talents that will be available the rest the season.
DEN Troy Franklin (5 - 8%): Franklin has emerged as the #2 WR in the Broncos offense. Probably will struggle with consistent production but has spike week potential with his big play ability.
NE Kayshon Boutte (2 - 3%): Boutte now has three straight weeks with a TD, despite only averaging 4 targets a game during that stretch. Never feels good starting a guy with that low of expected usage but can’t hate on a guy who just scores.
Players you can drop: Marvin Mims Jr., Rashod Bateman
TE
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Kyle Pitts Sr., Oronde Gadsden II
Colston Loveland (1 - 2%): With Cole Kmet injured, Loveland’s usage was promising playing 81% of the snaps. Decent expectation his role increases over the second half of the season.
Isaiah Likely (1 - 2%): Near even usage with Mark Andrews, Likely can be used as a ‘break glass’ streaming option, with his true value coming if Andrews were to get injured.
Theo Johnson (1%): Solid one-week start if needed. Decent volume, big play ability, and maybe the Giants go a bit more pass-heavy after the Skattebo injury.
Players you can drop: Darren Waller, Chig Okonkwo
📊 Poll of the Day
Yesterday’s poll: You have $100. Who are you betting on for OPOY?
Jonathan Taylor rightfully the clear favorite but at these odds, I’d take Puka Nacua. Likely needs a JT injury but if that happens, I’ll take Puka straight up over JSN even with the two missed injury games.

Who are you most hoping to land from this week's waiver wire? |
