• Daniel Jones named Colts starting QB [Tom Pelissero]

  My take: This is a bit surprising given the positive reports from beat reporters and how they both looked throughout preseason. Steichen notedly said "He's the starting quarterback for the season. I don't want to have a short leash on that." Things can obviously change if they struggle enough but this sounds like we can expect Daniel Jones to play majority of games this year. This is a slight boost for everyone in the Colts offense.
  

• Jalen McMillan will be placed on injured reserve after suffering severe neck injury [Rick Stroud]

  My take: And just like that the Bucs go from one of the strongest and deepest WR rooms in the league to now just one veteran and one rookie for the beginning of the season. Reports suggest McMillan could be sidelined at least until the Week 9 bye. Expect Egbuka to continue climbing up draft boards and don’t ignore Cade Otton as a sneaky late TE who thrived in the WRs’ absence last year.
  

• Matthew Stafford participated in practice Tuesday, making that back-to-back practices [Ian Rapoport]

  My take: Another data point, another step in the right direction. No need to overreact to one practice but good to see.

Yesterday’s poll: Where do you think Jacory Croskey-Merritt's ADP ends when the NFL season starts?

Round 8 would be picks 85-96, alongside RBs like Jaylen Warren and Tyrone Tracy. Even if Brian Robinson gets traded or cut as expected, that’s rather steep for a 7th round rookie that still needs to earn the starting job and upside is likely limited by lack of a pass-catching role and Daniels’ involvement around the goal line. But you all may be right that could be where the market is drafting him.
