RBs to the Rescue: Jacobs Fallout & Waiver Priorities

Getting OLD sucks. I spend more time warming up at the driving range than I do hitting balls.
That’s why I’m (unfortunately) clicking below 👇️

📝 News & Notes
Ja’Marr Chase suspended one game for spitting on Jalen Ramsey [Ian Rapoport]
My take: In the five games Tee Higgins played without Ja’Marr Chase, he averaged 6.2 receptions on 8.8 targets for 102 yards and 0.6 TDs. Going against New England and being a big underdog, I expect Higgins to get substantial volume (and Chase Brown again if no Samaje Perine).
Josh Jacobs suffered knee contusion, labeled week-to-week [Matt Schneidman]
My take: All things considered, this is a rather positive result to what this injury could have been. In addition to missing this week, I expect the Packers to ease him back in once ready as they’ve previously shown their conservative approach to his injuries. Emanuel Wilson is the back-up RB to own.
Michael Penix expected to miss rest of season [ESPN]
My take: This is a nightmare situation for the Falcons in fantasy, with Penix out for the season and Drake London likely missing extended time. Darnell Mooney and Kyle Pitts may see more volume but how valuable is volume from Cousins? I’m not too optimistic.
Justin Fields benched, Tyrod Taylor to start Week 12 for Jets [Ian Rapoport]
My take: Tyrod Taylor at least gives a modicum of hope he can boost the fantasy prospects of his teammates. Breece Hall is still though the only Jet I’d want to be starting.
💰️ Waiver Wire Report
Much stronger waiver wire this week, headlined by the RBs locking in new roles or filling in for injured starters.
QB
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Joe Burrow, Brock Purdy, Jaxson Dart
ARI Jacoby Brissett (5% - 8%): five straight top-12 finishes and just set an NFL record with 47 completions and 452 yards, garbage time savant
Players you can drop: Michael Penix, JJ McCarthy
RB
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Trey Benson, Bhayshul Tuten
TB Sean Tucker (7% - 10%): smashed the Bills for 140 total yards and 3 TDs; role though is dependent upon Bucky missing more time
GB Emanuel Wilson (5% - 8%): stepped in for an injured Josh Jacobs with 12 touches, a score, and has a history of late-season TD spurts, likely lead RB for any games Jacobs misses
PIT Kenneth Gainwell (5% - 8%): turned 7 catches into a 29.5-point eruption after Jaylen Warren’s injury; strong PPR flex with contingent top-15 upside if Warren misses time
NYG Devin Singletary (5% - 8%): locked into the goal-line/early-down role with the rookie Skattebo done for the year and Tracy playing a more pass-catching role
WAS Chris Rodriguez Jr. (3% - 5%): Rodriguez looks set up to the lead RB in WAS, though without Jayden and still sharing the backfield, the role is only so valuable
Players you can drop: JK Dobbins, Chuba Hubbard, Jacory Croskey-Merritt
WR
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Chris Godwin, Alec Pierce, Luther Burden III
GB Christian Watson (7% - 10%): turned limited volume into two highlight-reel TDs; still boom/bust, but the ceiling and potential for more targets with injuries around him keep him firmly in the upside WR3 mix
ARI Michael Wilson (5% - 8%): unlikely to get him at this price after his blowup but his value is capped by Marvin Harrison Jr. coming back
BUF Tyrell Shavers (1%): Bills benched Keon Coleman and Shavers immediately put up 19 fantasy points; deep-league dart who could carve out a real role if Keon’s off-field troubles continue
Players you can drop: Calvin Ridley
TE
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Juwan Johnson, Colston Loveland, Dalton Schultz
SEA AJ Barner (1%): boom or bust but has now shown quite the upside after having 10 catches on 11 targets
Players you can drop: Isaiah Likely, Jonnu Smith
