Round-by-Round Values for Yahoo & Sleeper

📝 News & Notes

  • Matthew Stafford has no restrictions in practice. McVay says “he’s looked like the stud we know.” [Around the NFL]

My take: Very different tone than last week as Stafford is stacking successful practices. Continuing to increase my confidence he’ll be the Week 1 starter though I’m still concerned about in-season reaggravation.

  • Chris Godwin is not expected to start the season on PUP, with hopes of practicing by Week 2 and an October return [Adam Schefter]

My take: Perhaps the first positive news we have heard on Godwin in months. Bucs must think they have a decent chance of him being healthy by week 4 or 5 given they’re giving up a roster spot to allow him to stay active and practice. I’d be pleasantly surprised by either.

  • Saints, Browns, and Chiefs all reported to be making calls in search of running back additions [Dianna Russini]

My take: While I generally hold off on incorporating this type of speculation into my rankings, it does hurt the likelihood of some of the RBs lower on the depth chart from breaking out - either due to the acquisition of another RB or just as a sign the coaching staff doesn’t have much confidence in their current RB room. Also interesting to see the Browns on this list as may hint towards the Browns not expecting to have Judkins signed anytime soon.

  • Chris Rodriguez expected to have the goal-line/short-yardage role, according to HC Dan Quinn [Ben Standig]

My take: This is the type of Week 1 mindset we need to be careful of during draft season. While Rodriguez, the veteran, is likely more trusted by the staff than the 7th round rookie, it would be naive to assume Jacory (Bill) Crosky-Merritt can’t steal that way. The biggest takeaway for me here is we should not assume Austin Ekeler has much of a shot at taking that goal line work.

🏈 DRAFT COMING UP?

I’ve built a chart of my favorite values to target in each round of drafts according to ADP on Yahoo and Sleeper. Hope this helps!

Yesterday’s poll: What's your ideal team structure after 5 rounds?

Underdog: 0 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 0 TE
DraftKings: 0 QB, 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE
Home League: 1 QB, 2 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE
