Saints WR on the move?

FF Market: Buy / Sell / Hold

📝 News & Notes

Adam Schefter believes the Saints are likely to trade at least one WR, leaning towards it being Rashid Shaheed [Adam Schefter]
My take: This was always going to be a reset season but with the Saints moving to Tyler Shough as the starter, it makes sense they completely lean into the rebuild and trade their valuable short-term assets. Shaheed feels more replaceable long-term while Olave could be more of a difference maker to pair with their QB of the future.

Isiah Pacheco is “week-to-week” with an MCL sprain [Tom Pelissero]
My take: In the games Pacheco has missed the past two years, Kareem Hunt handled 62% of the team’s rushing attempts. Given their current personnel, I lean they use a similar strategy with Hunt taking the majority of the rushes and goalline work, Brashard Smith potentially increasing his pass down work, and Elijah Mitchell playing sparingly.

📈 FF Market: Buy / Sell / Hold

Week 1: BUY Zach Charbonnet, SELL Aaron Jones, HOLD Jaylen Waddle
Week 2: BUY Brian Thomas Jr., SELL James Cook, HOLD AJ Brown & DeVonta Smith
Week 3: BUY Jaylen Warren, SELL David Montgomery, HOLD Derrick Henry
Week 4: BUY Tetairoa McMillan, SELL Alvin Kamara, HOLD Jake Ferguson
Week 5: No buy/sell/hold given
Week 6: BUY Brock Bowers, SELL Hollywood Brown, HOLD Rico Dowdle
Week 7: BUY Emeka Egbuka, SELL DK Metcalf, HOLD Rome Odunze

Brock Bowers: BUY
This is a repeat BUY call from two weeks ago but that’s because I believe the opportunity has only gotten better. From talking to casuals, many have forgotten how much of a difference maker Bowers can be when he is healthy, looking at his early season struggles and missed time (don’t forget it wasn’t long ago 54% of FFin60 readers said they’d rather have Jake Ferguson than Brock Bowers rest-of-season). With him hopefully healthy after the bye and the trade deadline upcoming (Jakobi Meyers anyone?), this may be the last chance to buy him low.

Tee Higgins: SELL
Higgins is riding hot after scoring a TD in back-to-back games with Joe Flacco, but I think that might provide the opportune window to sell Higgins high. Flacco has made it very clear he is going to throw Ja’Marr Chase the ball as many times as he can (42 targets in last two games) and while you can argue that will regress, this current offense and Flacco’s playing style do not set up well for Higgins’ skill set. See if you can get someone who values him as a 3rd/4th round talent.

Rashee Rice: HOLD
If I thought it were at all possible to buy Rashee Rice, he’d be in the BUY column. But I imagine he’d be nearly impossible to trade for at this point. So instead I am saying, don’t be tempted to trade him away unless you’re getting a top 4 RB or WR in return. Rice has a 29% target share, is clearly Mahomes’ favorite option, and is now even being used around the goal line on rushing plays. Rocket ship UP!
