Season-ending Surgery in Jacksonville

📝 News & Notes

Broncos considering putting JK Dobbins on IR [Chris Tomasson]
My take: It’s hard not to get excited for the opportunity RJ Harvey could have if Dobbins misses significant time. He has 2nd round draft capital, carried a full workload in college with a pass catching role, and has looked explosive in his limited touches this year. The risk is that Sean Payton has shown a proclivity for using a crowded backfield and Dobbins’ absence is far from a guarantee Harvey will immediately elevate to a high-volume role.

Travis Hunter undergoes season-ending surgery [Ian Rapoport]
My take: This could be a recent development or perhaps it played a role in the Jakobi Meyers trade. Either way, both Meyers and Parker Washington benefit the most from this news as it strengthens their chances of being the primary starters opposite Brian Thomas Jr. Washington has seen the most usage the past two weeks, playing in both 2-WR and 3-WR snaps, while Meyers’ role has been limited but expected to grow.

Woody Marks: BUY
Marks is coming off both his first start and highest snap share of the season. It was always a likely result that the Texans would lean more into their explosive rookie vs aging veteran but it’s great to see it actually happening. With the trade deadline approaching and Marks staring down two easy matchups, now is the time to attempt to buy.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt: SELL
Croskey-Merritt’s role looks to have relapsed into a split backfield after only playing 44% of the snaps this week. They also named fellow RB Chris Rodriguez captain last week and gave him 33% of the snaps. Combine the questionable role with likely poor offensive environments without Jayden Daniels and I’m not sure you’ll ever actually want to start him going forward. I wouldn’t drop him but I’d be willing to take just about anything helpful.

Rachaad White & Sean Tucker: HOLD
I still expect to see Bucky Irving before the end of the fantasy season but any previous time table is thrown out the window as that was initially based off the foot injury, not the shoulder. Neither has been able to truly capitalize on the opportunity but the matchups start getting better, culminating in one of the easiest runs of ARI, NO, ATL, @CAR, and @MIA.
