📝 News & Notes
Lamar Jackson himself said he had no physical limitations, as he was a DNP with a toe injury Monday
My take: Harbaugh reaffirmed Lamar is physically fine but the lack of rushing and overall production tells another story. You’re still starting Lamar if you have him but it is rather concerning as we approach the fantasy playoffs.
Baker Mayfield’s MRI revealed a low-grade sprain to his non-throwing shoulder [Ian Rapoport]
My take: This is just about as positive news as we could have received for Baker’s health. Expectation is at worst he’ll miss one game but he’s not even being ruled out for this upcoming match-up vs Arizona.
💰️ Waiver Wire Report
QB
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Jacoby Brissett, Joe Burrow
JAC Trevor Lawrence (1%): Available in 51% of Yahoo leagues, Lawrence has shown to have a decent floor, averaging 24 rushing yards in the last four games. Fine grab if you need some spot starts with a friendly upcoming match-up vs Tennessee
Players you can drop: JJ McCarthy, Justin Fields
RB
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Trey Benson, Bhayshul Tuten, Kenneth Gainwell
NO Devin Neal (3% - 5%): With Kendre Miller on IR and Alvin Kamara, banged up, rookie Devin Neal is next man up with a mostly friendly upcoming RB schedule
WAS Chris Rodriguez (2% - 4%): Rodriguez has emerged as the lead back in a crowded backfield. While that role isn’t secure or that valuable, the fantasy playoffs include games against teams that give up the 3rd most and 6th most points to opposing RBs
Players you can drop: Nick Chubb, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Chuba Hubbard
WR
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Chris Godwin, Darnell Mooney
GB Jayden Reed (7% - 10%): Available in 64% of leagues, Jayden Reed is set to return this week or next. GB can use a dynamic skill player among their other injuries and Reed fits the bill
GB Christian Watson (3% - 5%): Watson has 4+ catches and 40+ yards in all five games he’s started
NYJ John Metchie III (2% - 4%): Scored a TD in back-to-back games and now a full-time player for the Jets, upside capped but has a solid role
Players you can drop: Rashid Shaheed, Kayshon Boutte
TE
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Juwan Johnson, Colston Loveland
JAC Brenton Strange (3% - 5%): Strange played 71% of the snaps in his first week back and we expect that to continue to ramp up. Solid add if you need TE help.
Players you can drop: Evan Engram, Zach Ertz
⚕️ Injury Corner w/ Deepak Chona
CIN Joe Burrow - Expect strong play, lean Wk 13
CIN Tee Higgins - Concussion. Out Wk 13. Most return Wk 14 w/o dip. Some can linger. Doesn't have major prior concussion history
PIT DK Metcalf - Left w/ankle, then came back, then left again. In and out suggests potential for optimism. No obvious severe mechanism
GB Josh Jacobs - Very likely playing Wk 13. Would not anticipate major limitations. +Moderate re-injury risk
PIT Aaron Rodgers - Progression suggests Wk 13 return w/o dip. Falling on it would present re-injury risk. Suspect quick passing emphasis
NO Alvin Kamara - Left w/knee. Potential optimism from standing w/helmet on rather than going to sideline after eval
ATL Drake London - Avg = 2 wks out. Lean Wk 14-15 return. Bowers + Pearsall had similar injuries but both re-aggravated, causing extended absences/dips
DET Sam LaPorta - If recovery smooth, likely ~100% by Wk 1
