What is Happening to the QBs?

Week 3 Waiver Wire Report

📝 News & Notes

It is Murderers' Row for QBs just two weeks into the season! In addition to Joe Burrow missing at least three months, we have three other starters dealing with injuries that could cost them games:

  • JJ McCarthy will miss 2-4 weeks with high ankle sprain. Carson Wentz will start in his absence.

  • Jayden Daniels is “truly day-to-day” with this weekend’s status in jeopardy. If he can play, expect his rushing to be limited. [Nicki Jhabvala]

  • Justin Fields is in the concussion protocol and questionable for this weekend’s game vs Tampa

  • Brock Purdy missed Week 2 due to turf toe, is expected to be out at least one more week

💰️ Waiver Wire Report

QB
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Caleb Williams, Drake Maye
IND Daniel Jones ($5 - $8): overall QB2 on the year, doing enough on the ground to make him a valuable fantasy asset
JAC Trevor Lawrence ($2 - $4): not exciting but if you need a QB replacement, he’s a decent target albeit a difficult upcoming schedule
CIN Jake Browning ($1 - $2): top 10 QB 5 of his last 7 starts, likely CIN starter for next three months
Players you can drop: Joe Burrow, Brock Purdy, JJ McCarthy

RB
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Cam Skattebo, Trey Benson, Bhayshul Tuten, Tyler Allgeier
LAR Blake Corum ($3 - $5): one injury away from a top 10 RB role, standalone value as a complementary back
HOU Woody Marks ($2 - $4): looked good on MNF with Dameon Pierce a healthy scratch, can gradually increase his role or starter potential if Chubb gets hurt
WAS Jeremy McNichols ($2 - $4): only relevant in PPR, likely to take over the Austin Ekeler pass catching role
DAL Miles Sanders ($1 - $2): not an exciting add but available if you need it
Players you can drop: Austin Ekeler, Dameon Pierce, Kaleb Johnson, Braelon Allen

WR
Likely taken but top priorities if available: Chris Godwin, Jauan Jennings, Darnell Mooney, Rashid Shaheed
NYG Wan’Dale Robinson ($10 - $15): emerged as Russell Wilson’s second favorite pass catcher with the highest ADOT of his career
HOU Christian Kirk ($5 - $8): should be returning from injury as CJ Stroud’s much needed, dependable #2
CLE Cedric Tillman ($5 - $8): more confidence his role is secure so long as Flacco is QB
TEN Elic Ayomanor ($3 - $5): candidate for breakout rookie WR, has already established solid rapport with Cam Ward
DEN Troy Franklin ($3 - $5): hard to know with Sean Payton if Week 2’s usage was random or predictive, but worth a flyer on a potential breakout season for a talented prospect
GB Romeo Doubs & Dontayvion Wicks ($1 - $2): Jayden Reed’s absence opens the door for more WR opportunities, though both will be hard to trust
JAX Dyami Brown ($1 - $2): Playing the second most WR snaps for JAX, won’t be dependable but can be plugged in for positive matchups
Players you can drop: Jayden Reed, Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette, Darius Slayton

TE
NO Juwan Johnson ($10 - $15): two straight weeks of elite TE usage, if still available, worth grabbing as your starter or back-up / future trade bait
CLE Harold Fannin ($3 - $5): can be played if necessary, more valuable as a second half stash
BAL Isaiah Likely ($1 - $2): coming back from injury soon, worth grabbing a week in advance, could fill void with Mark Andrews’ struggles
Players you can drop: Hunter Henry, Evan Engram, Colston Loveland
